Müller Corner: How Loved Brands and Product Innovation Can Drive Sales

Müller is bringing some of the UK’s best-loved treat brands into the yoghurt aisle with its latest Müller Corner launch. The new range combines Müller’s familiar yoghurt format with Oreo, McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes and Flipz, offering consumers a fresh way to enjoy flavours they already know and love. The launch is a great example of how FMCG brands can build on existing brand recognition to create something new and generate further sales opportunities.

The collaboration taps into the strength of established brands. Oreo, Jaffa Cakes and Flipz each have their own loyal following, making them instantly recognisable to shoppers. By combining these familiar treats with Müller Corner’s creamy yoghurt and separate-compartment format, the brands create a new proposition without asking consumers to take a chance on something completely unfamiliar.

This approach highlights how product innovation does not always mean starting from scratch. Introducing familiar flavours in a new format can give shoppers a reason to revisit a category, encourage trial and create additional purchase occasions. For Müller, it adds variety to an established range, while the partner brands gain another way to connect with consumers and extend their presence beyond their traditional products.

There is also a clear commercial opportunity. New products can attract attention on shelf, encourage impulse purchases and give retailers a reason to refresh their ranges. Müller’s launch announcement cited 3% retail sales value growth for its Corner yoghurts over the 12 weeks to 11 July 2026, according to Circana data. While this does not establish the sales impact of the new varieties themselves, it demonstrates the existing strength of the range that the collaboration aims to build upon.

Marketing will also play an important role in turning product innovation into sales. Müller is supporting the launch with a multimillion-pound integrated media and shopper marketing campaign, designed to raise awareness and encourage consumers to try the new products. Combining recognisable brands with a distinctive product offering and strong promotional support can help generate initial interest and encourage repeat purchases if the products meet consumer expectations.

For other FMCG businesses, the lesson is to look at how existing brand equity can unlock new opportunities. Collaborations can bring together complementary audiences, create excitement around familiar products and offer retailers something different to put in front of shoppers. Ultimately, successful product innovation is about more than launching something new; it is about giving consumers a compelling reason to buy and creating opportunities for sustainable sales growth.
