The FMCG behemoth who also owns Cadbury is following in the footsteps of other giants like Unilever and Nestle has stated that it will be pulling all “non-essential activities” out of Russia in response to the escalating war on Ukraine.
Chief Executive Dirk Van de Put said in a letter to staff that “As a food company, we are scaling back all non-essential activities in Russia while helping maintain continuity of the food supply during the challenging times ahead….We will also continue to support our colleagues in the market who are facing great uncertainty”
The statement from the CEO come after he said the business condemns this unjust aggression and revealed that they will continue to keep operations in Ukraine closed to protect the safety of all their employees.
Additionally, Van de Put said the company will be increasing its humanitarian efforts with multi-million-dollar investments in various organisations aimed at supporting the victims of the crisis.
