Purchasing Analyst

Central London


This highly desirable, central London based “on the go” food business, are expanding rapidly and looking for exceptional talent to join them. This specific role is for a purchasing analyst, working with the buying team to deliver company strategy & objectives, assisting in the management of data, and helping to provide the information required to understand all costs and impact on the business.

The role sits cross functionally, working with (among others) marketing, NPD, finance, commercial.

A snapshot of example responsibilities:

  • Analyse & report the impact of inflation against business performance
  • Support cost mitigation exercises with information from reporting
  • Develop forecast models to track cost saving
  • Report performance of cost saving vs forecast & budget
  • Have an input in the purchasing department’s budgeting
  • Maintain supplier price files and distribute internally
  • Utilise tools such as Mintec to stay up to date with commodity markets
  • Build robust forecasts and update accordingly
  • Support commercial finance team with tracking, updating and reporting specialist projects results


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Good use of Microsoft Office, Word, Access, PowerPoint
  • Advanced Excel skills (vlookup, sumif, pivot tables, etc)
  • Strong analytical skills & financial numeracy
  • A pro-active approach
  • Outstanding written & oral communication skills
  • Confidence in presenting data to multiple stakeholders from peers to board level directors
  • A commercially astute mindset
  • A strong team-focused attitude
  • Any project management experience would be highly desirable
  • As would any category management or insight experience
