Nick's Vacancies

An Interview With Nick.

We caught up with Nick, here's what he had to say;

VR: So how long have you been working at Vertex?

NJ: Since March 2013, with a few months backpacking around SE Asia squeezed in too.

VR: What’s your area of expertise, (within Vertex)?

NJ: FMCG Sales & Marketing, inappropriate humour & all things sport related!

VR: What can you offer a client or candidate, that nobody else can?

NJ: A great sense of humour, honest approach to working & health and fitness advice if you need it! (As I’m a qualified personal trainer too!)

VR: That’s enough boring stuff, let’s get personal….
Describe yourself in 3 words?

NJ: Down to earth.

VR: Who is your celebrity idol, living or dead and why?

NJ: I don’t really have an idol, but I do admire people who have overcome adversity and/or those who look to improve the world.Katie piper for example took one of the worst things anyone could experience (an acid attack) and used this to become her biggest strength and inspire others.

We need more people doing stuff like that and less of this social media inspired “look at me and my amazing life #boobs/#six pack”, we are all in this together and should be nicer to one another! #rantover (VR: can literally feel the steam coming from his ears )

VR: If you won a £1 million tomorrow, what would you do?

NJ: Set up a dog friendly craft beer pub serving bacon cheese burgers – for both owner and pooch.

Travel South America & go to Alaska to see killer whales in the wild!

Further my education.

Maybe treat friends/family to a spoons burger and pint if they are lucky!

VR: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done?

NJ: Abseiled from Twickenham stadium

VR: You’re doing a pub quiz, what’s your best subject?

NJ: Sport, doctor who, star wars, arctic monkeys 2005- present

Smart Foods to help you think

Summer 2018 is still in full swing, and I imagine it’s not just us here at Vertex towers who wouldn’t mind fancy having a cheeky siesta now and then at the minute due to the heat exacerbating the traditional post lunch slump.

Vertex Resourcing Good luck Gareth Southgate amp the squad

Just a quick post from the Vertex team, tonight is the biggest England game in many fan’s living memory, get your waistcoats ready!!!

It’s coming home  started as a joke, but we are now so close to it becoming true.

Gareth Southgate has been a revelation, and the 2016 European fiasco (no not Brexit!) feels like a life time ago.

What do penalty shoot outs and interviews have in commonPreparation is key

July 3rd  2018 ….. England have won a penalty  shootout (it  feels strange typing that) , the weather has been amazing for longer than anyone can  care to  remember ….. no hole has been blown in the space-time continuum… as far as anyone can tell.

Suns Out Guns Out - Nick Jordan explains why Healthy Workers Healthy Workplace

Vertex have recently moved to Kingston and it seems due to a combination of amazing weather and being close enough to be able to use a gym during lunch breaks or taking a walk by the riverside, there is a big health kick going on here at Vertex Towers!

Why recruitment is like dating and football

Having never worked in recruitment before, I must admit I did not know quite what to expect, I thought it was all “dial a few numbers”, ping out some CVs, close the deal, then go down the dog and duck to blow our commission. Back in on Monday to do it all again (with paracetamol).

Now I wasn’t wrong… but there is a lot more to it than that.

Why should you use a recruitment business?

Why should you use a recruitment business

So the Christmas weight gain has settled in and its now back to the office to crack on with 2018.

You are catching up with your team doing the one to ones, and out of no where, Sarah pulls out the dreaded letter of doom and instead of talking through the plan for the year, she is instead explaining to you that she has decided to leave and set up a cat walking business.
